2021 Waitiki Vineyard Chardonnay

Fruit from just one of the two vineyards they source Chardonnay from (no fruit from the vineyard that supplied the 2015). They say they don’t have a set style, they just leave it alone, though usually quite a bit of solids in the ferment. 20% new oak. Bottled without filtration after malo. To be released December 2023. Straw colour. Bit richer than the 2015 on the nose with very light reduction. Racy, lively, purity again. (JR)
