1966 Quinta do Noval Vintage Coll. Case (12,14,15,16,17,18)

Lively mid ruby with a pale rosy rim. Much more concentrated and vigorous than the 1955 tasted immediately beforehand. Even a little briary. Firm. Very neat and lifted on the palate with that great roundness of the 1966 and just a hint of tannic structure. Hint of woodsmoke – or is that the open fire in the grate next door? Spirit well incorporated. Still lots of life ahead of it. Very gentle. (JR)
