60% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot Noir, 4% Pinot Meunier from Kent and East Sussex. 12% of reserve wine from vintages 2009 to 2014. Aged on lees for at least three years. Dosage 8 g/l. Tasted blind. Hint of putty on the nose. Very beautiful texture. Creamy without being heavy. Great balance of fruit and acid. Crisp, clean and appetising. (JR)

The 2016 went through malo and was blended with 12% reserve wines back to 2009, which had been held in both barrel and tank. Aged for six months on fine lees in tank and then three years in bottle. Dosage 8 g/l. Winemaker Josh Donaghay-Spire. Pretty light nose and rather hard on the finish at the moment. Youthful with marked acidity (TA 7.1 g/l) although there is a little soft sweetness on the very end. This may well bloom into something a little more alluring. (JR)
