1989 Chinon Les Roches

Burnished orange-red colour. Gorgeous violet, furniture polish and vegetal aromas – the fruit is in retreat on the nose, but on the palate there is a dried-redcurrant note that keeps it balanced. As it fades, there is a slight metallic tinge, but as a fully mature, light-bodied red, this hits the spot and reflects its origin well. The finish has a lovely gentle gradient. (RH)
