2017 Chardonnay Villages

Like the 2018 this is made from hand-picked Mount Barker estate-grown fruit. Ambient yeast and long maturation in old French oak. Greenish tinge to the quite deep straw colour. Richer than the 2018 but as well balanced. Perhaps a bit more Australia than Burgundy. I wonder whether it was a little fresher and more vital last year? (JR)
