WhistlePig 15 Year Old Single Cask #77020 is a fine example of the masterful work at the highly decorated rye whiskey producer. This superlative liquid was chosen from over 30 different single casks at a tasting with Master Distiller Pete Lynch at the Vermont distillery. After time spent in American oak and a short finishing period in Vermont oak, there is a delightful spicy rye note on the nose complemented by vanilla and ginger. On the palate, that rye spice pervades, with the addition of dark chocolate and leather. The aged single-cask rye whiskey has a long finish with a hint of butterscotch. Only 132 bottles exist.
