Fresh apple, quince and grapefruit are mingled on the nose with sesame oil and pleasantly bittersweet notes of crushed walnut. There is a corresponding combination of generously juicy fruit with piquant nuttiness on the palate, which conveys an impression of extract-richness combined with utmost alcoholic levity. The mouthwatering, bell-clear finish rings out with vibrancy and infectious juiciness, along with a decisive slice of slate, subtle smokiness and a reprise of that surprising sesame oil.

The 2017 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett offers a deep, darker toned, flinty-stony bouquet of ripe, yellow-fleshed stone fruits. Racy and very mineral on the palate, this is an expressive, salty-piquant and elegant Riesling with ripe and juicy fruit, lots of energy and a long, well-structured, pure and salty finish. Expressive. Tasted in March 2019.
Lemon and grapefruit zing on the nose. Like the Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett, great purity, perhaps a little crisper and more stony/smoky. Then on the palate, there’s just-ripe apricot and the impression of orange but still utterly mouth-watering. VGV (JH)
