Very dark crimson. A certain intense sweetness on the nose of this unusual vintage. It's getting sweeter! Reminds me of Rhubarb Rock (sweet of my youth). A bit ungainly. (JR)

According to Bill Downie, this wine is very unlike the usual Yarra style in 2015, and other producers have experienced this. They usually get fresh red berry fruit but this is riper and fuller than usual. Mid healthy crimson. Intense and punchy on the nose. Very polished with intense black fruit on the palate. Lots of elderberry – almost elderberry cordial. Good drive and energy. (JR)
