Punteggio 19.5/20 · Da bere 2022-2050, Tom Parker MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2022

Smoky, with a blend of game and succulent black fruit on the nose. Unlike most other vintages, the Brune here has a softer palate than the straight Côte Rôtie. Supple black fruit and fresh, vivid acidity marry perfectly in this youthful, fine example. This actually tightens a little with more air, the structure increasing in presence with whole-bunch spice. Harmonious, and very long. A great life ahead. (TP)

Very limited-production cuvée that commands a premium price but this bottle was disappointing, verging on pretty with distinct bitterness on the finish. The additional concentration and bitumen robbed the wine of the usual ethereal Jamet perfume. I have no way of knowing whether this was an individual bottle phenomenon, or whether it will evolve out of this stage, but would stick to the regular cuvée with my own money. (JR)

Jamet's special, very low-volume bottling. Very deep crimson and serious nose. Dense, bright fruited but chewy. I remarked to Jean-Paul Jamet, 'this wine has a beard' and he smiled in recognition of what I was trying to say. A slow burner. (JR)
