1997 Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Spatlese

Lemon custard studded with ginger in the nose, along with a note of pie crust. Lovely, elegant mouthful of fresh nectarine and lemon custard ideally balanced between sweetness and acidity. Finishes with lemon, mirabelle and brown spice. While there not an overt slatiness in evidence, this wine has the sort of fine fruit and juxtaposition of richness and delicacy that only slate can confer.
