Note di degustazione
The white fruit, gun flint, and mineral-scented 2002 Riesling Kabinett Graacher Himmelreich is a focused wine. Copious quantities of melted slate, minerals, and flint are intermingled with quinine in this effort’s complex personality. It is intensely flavored and reveals a long finish. Projected maturity: 2006-2014. Chapin Cellars, imported by Billington Imports, Springfield, VA; tel. (703) 455-4700

Slightly yeasty nose, but the palate is clear as a bell, with delicate apple blossom and subtle black fruit flavors, a very judicious and non-interfering residual sugar and CO2, and abundant slate. Tender in texture yet discreetly invigorating, it finishes long and - for a Prum Kabinett - relatively dry, with wet stone and a touch of fruit skin having the last word. 1 star.
