Very similar colour to the wine above but it looks just slightly less youthful. Raw notes on the nose (in dramatic contrast to the appearance and nose of the wine above!). Lots of acidity but not especially refined. Big and bold and very chewy. Grainy finish. A sinewy wine. (JR)

A distinctive effort, this 2000 offers up charming notes of chocolate, cocoa, mocha, and espresso along with red and black fruit aromas. However, in the mouth, the wine seems pinched, compressed, astringent, and disjointed. Perhaps I caught it on a bad day, but two samples tasted were identical. Oct 2002, www.robertparker.com
